A lot of people got laid off at the end of 2008 and in the early part of 2009. A lot of the people who were affected couldn't find work and ended up in the unemployment lines. Some people made the decision to instead get new training from a local truck driving school. Our focus here is to help those that attended a truck driving school find a great truck driving job.
 

If you have a tank endorsement, for example, you have been trained on how to handle a tank JD Truck Training Centre. This opens up many job opportunities that you wouldn't have had otherwise.

How long does it take to get certified? Depending on the school, it could take about 90 days. It varies from school to school. In good schools, there is the desk classes and then time on the road.

Accreditation refers to schools that have been accredited by an agency that has been approved by the U.S. Department of Education. Only Truck driving schools that have been accredited are entitled to have access to federal student grants and loans. There are very few Truck driving school that have achieved accreditation because of the tough standards and the expensive process. A truck driving school that has been accredited, shows that they have met the highest standards for education.

You must be a U.S. citizen, speak English, and have a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. In addition, you must be at least 21 years old to drive across state lines. Some trucking companies will hire 18 year olds to drive within a state.

The schooling began with nothing but classroom study for the first week or two. If you decide to attend driving school at a HR Truck Licence company....let the propaganda begin! They won't waste any chance at promoting themselves, believe Hr licence me. They will also make you feel like it is your privilege to be working for them. Get used to that. Now here's your first piece of raw truth about the industry... companies are completely and totally desperate for truck drivers. I mean DESPERATE!

I learned that traveling, by car, to the top of Mt Lemmon, which is located in the Santa Catalina Mountains, is some 9100+ feet above sea level. When I took Jessica, my teenaged daughter, there, we learned that going from Tucson to the top of the mountain, was like traveling from the border of Mexico to the Canadian border, as far as the changes in Temperate Zones experienced. As I recall, it was around 70 degrees in Tucson, and people were skiing on the snow, in the 20's to 30 degree mark atop Mount Lemmon.

You may be witness to historical events and not even know it. Additionally, you will have some time to spare in the cities you go, so don't worry about learning only the docks, parking lots and warehouses. If you are a sociable person and you don't like routine, this job is made for you. You will never eat at the same hour. Sometimes you will not even get to sleep. But that shouldn't be a problem since you can taste new out-of-the-ordinary food every couple of days and sleep in the comfort of different hotels.
